Bei einer aktiven Kurbelgehäuseentlüftung (Kurbelgehäuseentlüfter) schließt ein Ventil, wodurch das Wiedereintauchen von Gasen in das Kurbelgehäuse verhindert wird, was einen stärkeren partiellen Unterdruck im Kurbelgehäuse erzeugt. Dies kann die Leistung erhöhen, je nach Motor.
